I have been a nervous student standing in an unfamiliar room and I have also been the teacher of hundreds of new students. What I have encountered is not that beginners need a special class, but rather two very important things.
1. Commitment to taking on the process of something new. The first few classes can be physically and mentally challenging where it is easy to give up.
2. Time is where habit is developed and the fundamentals are learned. Yoga is meant to be progressive. With each practice the postures begin to make sense and the flow becomes easier.
Commit to the time is takes to attend 10 classes in 3 weeks (if possible).
Embrace being a beginner as this is an awesome time of self discovery.
